
Aftercare
Plastic Wrap
1. Leave plastic wrap on for about one hour
2. Gently remove and wash with antibacterial soap (dial gold or equivalent) and water
3. Wash 2-3 times per day with antibacterial soap
4. Pat dry with a clean towel
5. Apply a thin layer of attercare (the one provided to you, if applicable, or any unscented light lotion such as Cerave, Lubriderm, or equivalent)
6. Repeat steps 3-5 for the first week
7. Continue regular lotion/aftercare/moisturizer application as needed
Second Skin
1. Leave second skin on for the first 24 hours
2. Remove while in the shower - gently start to pull on the edges of the material away from the center, similar to removing a Command Strip. Move around the tattoo on all sides until the material releases completely.
3. Wash with antibacterial soap (dial gold or equivalent) and pat dry with clean towel
4. Either apply a new second skin for the next
2-3 days, or follow attercare steps 3-5 referenced in the left hand column
Avoid
• Use antibiotic ointment, Neosporin, Aquaphor, or any petroleum jelly products
• Pick or scratch your tattoo
• Submerge in pools, hot tubs, or bodies of water until completely healed (showers are fine)
• Tan or lay in the sun until fully healed (4-6 weeks)
**Your tattoo will go through many changes during the healing process. All skin types are different and will heal ditterently.
**For the longevity of your tattoo: Once healed, use proper skin care, a good quality sunscreen, and drink plenty of water!
